Kickstarter rewards are finally going out. As you can see in the photos below I’m a one-man reward-fulfilling machine. I finally got the work-in-progress DVD authored— and that was the last remaining piece of the puzzle. Now it’s just a matter of printing labels, taping boxes, and making the trips to the post office.

As you know, the Kickstarter campaign was successful and I now have a small budget to work with… so I’ve hired a few very talented artists to help me get this movie pushed forward towards completion. Here’s the first background for the movie that I did not paint— created by the amazing Diego Almazan. I think he nailed it.

No, this isn’t a picture of me throwing poster tubes away in the waste basket at the post office. It’s me in line with a bunch of posters, ready to mail! Those of you who selected the postcard or the poster reward tier are in luck. They are now in transit! Godspeed!

So I picked up the movie posters and the postcards on Friday. They look great! I can’t wait to send them out. The photo here shows them on a card table in my garage.
And I worked all weekend on a shot in the movie that takes place just outside Lisette’s Cafe, featuring a jazz band playing in the street. The song they play is called Silverware by Golden Arm Trio, and yes, this fantastic tune is on the soundtrack. I’ll be posting the soundtrack page very soon so those of you who missed out on the soundtrack reward will be able to buy it on bandcamp. Life is good.
I am still basking in the glow of having successfully funded this project and it is all thanks to you people. Amazing! Thanks a million.

Here’s another background painting from scene one- the trailer park.
The kickstarter campaign is still live— but only for 6 more days. We’re at 88% and rising. Please contribute and get us to that finish line by next week!
We’ve come so far on this kickstarter campaign— it would be a shame to get this far and fall short. Spread the word and let’s push this over the top! And, again, big thanks to those who have contributed!
The kickstarter campaign for Boxer Story has ONE WEEK LEFT and we are 80% of the way to our funding goal. Many, many thanks to those of you who have already contributed on the site. Please spread the word to anyone else you think might be interested in being a part of this. Here’s the link…
Boxer Story is a 20-minute animated film about an up-and-coming boxer in 1970’s New Orleans. It’s a film I’ve been wanting to make for several year now.
For anyone out there unfamiliar with how kickstarter works…
Kickstarter.com is a site that provides independent creators with a way to raise cash for their projects by offering little incentives (like movie posters, copies of the soundtrack, etc.) to people who contribute money. But the campaign only lasts for 30 days and it’s all or nothing funding— which means if you don’t raise your funding goal amount in the alotted time, you get nothing. Again, Boxer Story is 80% funded with one week left. WE CAN DO THIS!
Here are more links about the project…
